does iritis cause permanent scarring?

Post by vancouver »

I mean other than from synechiae? I know about calcium banding on the posterior of cornea. Scarring of lens or cornea is never listed as a sequelia of iritis. Ive heard the scarring is only detectable for few months after iritis event. So the white blood cells dont produce permanent scarring?

They now think my uveitis is related to Hashimoto's thyroid, which i have had for 10 years,

Vancouver,
Not sure about scaring, but I did have pigment/cataract left on my inner lens after an iritis flare, which occurred 7 years ago now.
After seeing many Ophthalmologists both through the NHS & privately, some sympathetic to my condition, others not. I had a cataract operation around 6 months ago now, due to suffering from continuous photophobia issues, relating to my effected eye. Even though no obvious inflammation seems to be present. Unfortunately the cataract operation had made no improvement to my current photophobia.
